Season’s greetings for 2014 and best wishes for the year to come

December 20, 2014
 - Tim Hardman

With the year coming to a close, the Niche team are eager to thank all our colleagues, partners and fellow science-enthusiasts for their engagement over the last 12 months. We also want to share our greetings for the season (what we at Niche call Niche-mas as a time when we take a break and reflect on the year that has just passed).

Looking back, 2014 has been a great year for Niche. We started the year with our grant-funded SPRINTT research programme being approved by the European Union IMI fund. We followed this by rapid take up of the project as we onboarded the various consortium partners from across Europe. We also had several manuscripts published that were written by the Niche team on subjects like sarcoidosis and a description of our methodology for the MID-Frail study. We have also published several blogs on issues such as project tracking and English usage when writing.

Looking ahead to 2015, it looks like we have an exciting year ahead. We are still waiting to hear from the MRC regarding our grant application, RASP-UK, looking at biomarkers relating to the treatment of asthma with steroids and severity of the disease. We also have several blogs planned detailing best practice on a variety of industry activities and several new review manuscripts in advanced stages of development. We hope to continue to release more of our industry leading Insider’s Insights – so remember to sign up for our email updates here.

Ultimately, it has been another successful year for Niche, as we continue to innovate and expand our ever-growing portfolio of projects. 2015 promises some exciting initiatives to come. That leaves us with the one pleasant task of share our best wishes for the holiday season and a great start for the coming year, where we hope we can continue working with the broader scientific, medical and pharma community. In the words of Charles M. Schulz (the creator of the comic strip Peanuts which features his two best-known characters, Charlie Brown and Snoopy), “Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone.”
