Deep Breath: Issue #3

October 6, 2016
 - Tim Hardman

Download the third issue of the Refractory Asthma Stratification Programme (RASP-UK) here [1].

We are almost 1 year into the programme and have already seen great progress since we signed the consortium agreement October 2015. Recruitment into Workstrand 1 (Adherence, INCA-SUN and Biomarker Stratification Study) and Work-strand 3 (SoMOSA) continues to be our focus. However, since the last newsletter we have had Research Ethics Committee and Health Research Authority approval for the Workstrand 2 Bronchoscopy study with first Trust approval at Leicester.

In this latest edition we share updates on the programme as well as some more in-depth information on selected workstrands. We cover:

  • RASP-UK First Trial Steering Committee Meeting
  • Work-strand 2 Bronchoscopy study: an overview
  • Patient involvement, engagement, participation and experience...what is it and why is it important?
  • Update on workstrand progress
  • Upcoming events

The newsletter reminds everyone that the RASP-UK website holds copies of all relevant study documents, and they can be accessed vis the secure login at the consortium website [2]. We are also preparing to monitor, manage and promote all materials and messages emerging from the RASP-UK initiative with the aim of maximising the legacy of the research by winning share of voice in this busy research space through the use of interactive publication planning as part of a strategic communications plan.
